During a demonstration by laborers and farmers, the police open fire. Domenico Centola is seriously injured in the head. First transported to the Foggia hospital and subsequently transferred to the San Camillo hospital in Rome, he died on 28 May 1971. He leaves behind 2 children aged 6 and 3 and his wife who is expecting a third child.
